The Cantaloupe is actually a European melon that earned its name from the Italian papal village of Cantalup where some historians say this species of melon was first grown. Our Cantaloupe is not exported. Cantaloupe belongs to the same family as the pumpkin, cucumber, and squash and like most of its relatives, grows along a trailing vine. Our American cantaloupes are actually muskmelons. They have a raised, smooth taupe-colored skin when ripe with a pale orange-colored flesh that is sweet and juicy. Cantaloupe is an excellent source of vitamins A and C.

Cantaloupe, Sugar, may contain 2% or less of Citric Acid, Artificial Flavor,  Sulfur Dioxide to preserve color.

Cantaloupe a delightful addition that is delicious in salads, cream pies, compotes, bread, preserves, and punch.

Recommended Preparation Instructions:

There is no preparation needed for dried fruit. To rehydrate, pour boiling water over the fruit and let sit, covered, for 5-10 minutes. Drain well before using it.
