Keeping it simple can be the best starting point for a chef in creating their own signature blends. Our basic blend consists of our Dry Roasted Wild Rice with its nutty flavor profile and our Parboiled Brown Rice. Add your own ingredients to this whole-grain blend and make it your own!

 

  • Use for red meats, wild game, and pork.
  • More economical than straight wild rice.
  • Great with Garlic Peppercorn or Chicken Seasoning.
  • Approximate cost per ½ cup serving: 27¢.
  • Approximate yield per cup: 3 – 3½.
  • ½ Cup Servings per: 1# = 15 1/2 - 16 1/2.

This heart-healthy blend of wild and brown rice compliments all entrees. Use to stuff cabbage rolls, mix with cooked red rice and Kamut for a bold pilaf, or use as a basic blend for your own personal recipe!

Recommended Preparation Instructions:

  • 2 pounds of rice
  • 12 cups of water
  • ¼ cup of cooking oil or butter
  • 5 ounces of Chieftain Seasoning (optional)

Combine ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 35-45 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes; fluff with a fork before serving.

  • ½ cup of cooking oil or butter
  • 12 ounces of Chieftain Seasoning (optional)
