Gaba rice is a slowly germinated brown rice that contains a greater amount of the naturally-occurring gamma-aminobutyric acid. Gaba is found naturally in the brain and plays a role in the regulation of muscle tone. Gaba may also play a role in helping to reduce stress and insomnia with its calming effect on the nervous system. Gaba rice contains almost five times the amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid as regular brown rice. With a flavor that is a cross between white and brown rice, Gaba rice has a softer texture than brown rice with a sweet, nutty flavor.

Suggested Use:
Substitute GABA Rice for any brown rice and enjoy the health benefits of this nutritious rice!  As with any rice products the variations are endless... add to soups, use in wraps, Mexican dishes, pilaf, casseroles, cold or warm salads, rice cakes, or dips. 

Recommended Preparation Instructions:

Rinse 2 cups Gaba rice in cold water. Place rice and 3 cups of water in a pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 40 minutes. It is very important to NOT lift the lid during the entire cooking process. Remove from heat and fluff. 

One cup dry yields 2¾ cups cooked.
