Description:

Temporarily Unavailable... Soba is the Japanese name for Buckwheat. Soba Noodles are a thin noodle made from Buckwheat. Because noodles made out of pure buckwheat can easily fall apart when boiled, the buckwheat flour is usually mixed with binders, most often wheat flour. The art of creating fresh Soba Noodles is an impressive artisan activity. Old fashioned milling techniques are used to conserve the delicate flavors of the noodles that would be lost using contemporary techniques. Soba noodles, because of their buckwheat content, are a slow-releasing carbohydrate and have high protein content. Green Tea Soba Noodles are made with enriched flour, wheat flour, malted barley, Buckwheat flour, green tea powder, water, salt, and artificial coloring. When cooked Green Tea Soba Noodles are pale green with a light green tea flavor and slightly chewy texture. Soba noodles can be served drained and chilled or hot in a soy-based broth. Traditionally eaten on New Years' Eve in Japan, Soba was at one time offered as a “housewarming gift” to new families in a neighborhood.
