Rice River Farms White Basmati is grown in Pakistan around the Himalayan Foothills. Basmati Rice means the "queen of fragrance or the perfumed one".  When cooking Basmati Rice it gives off a buttery aroma similar to buttered popcorn. Offering a sweet and nutty flavor, this rice compliments Indian and Asian cooking.

Delicious with curry dishes, pairs well with lobster and crab. Perfect with shrimp scampi, great as a bedding for fish and chicken and topped with champaigne sauce. Throw some into your favorite chowder or bisque. 

Recommended Preparation Instructions:

• 1 cup Basmati rice
• 2 cups water
• 2 T. butter or olive oil (optional)

Combine 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water, and butter in saucepan (or rice cooker). Bring to a boil then stir. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until water is absorbed and rice is tender. Remove from heat; let stand 5-10 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve.

Yield: Approximately 4 cups of cooked rice.
