heat the oven to 350 F; grease and flour a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.

Blend flour, cricket powder, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. When blended well, add the sugar and stir inthe to oats and the dates. In seperate bowl,  beat the eggs with the milk and stir in the melted butter and vanilla syrup. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until evenly moistened. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan. Bake immediately for 55 to 6- minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center of the bread. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. While still warm, sprinkle sea salt lightly on top.
